A Fairy Tale

By Loudon
 Once upon a time
there was a bad guy robot.
I swooped down
and bonked him on the head.
Phew! Phew! Phew!
(lots of spitting, explosion noises)
and he exploded into a billion pieces.
The End

These days, Loudon is obsessed with pirates. He eats, sleeps, and dreams about pirates. For those of you in the know, he is a Pirate Who Doesn't Do Anything...a Veggie Tale Pirate. He is busy planning his birthday party coming up in October. It will be, of course, a pirate party. I have been on the look out for a wooden box to make into a treasure chest for his birthday present. So far, I haven't found exactly what I want...and I still have to find some treasure booty to put in it.

Hi Jenny,

Ha :) So funny.

My grand children and I play pirates sometimes, we have plastic swords. I am a dab hand at pretend pirate fighting :)

Hope you get everything you need for the party...plenty of time yet.

Hi Jen,
Oh, so it's pirates is it? My 3 year old grandson was at that stage about 6 months ago. When we were at a Disney Store, I bought him a treasure chest. It was filled with gold pieces of 8, a treasure map, spyglass and other stuff. It was fun.

These days my 2 year old grands are into Mighty Machines. They sing that song non-stop. It's fun. Keeps us young and on our toes (trying to remember all those words!).

You have a cute little pirate there - nice pic!

Thanks for the idea for pirate's treasure chest. I will check them out.

What a cutie! Isn't it funny how kids latch onto certain roles for awhile? My middle grandson was into pirates for a long time. My granddaughter was entranced by fairies, but informed me recently that she was "too old" for them now, which made me a little sad--I don't want them to ever lose that childhood imagination.

Hope you find all that you're looking for for Loudon's birthday--a treasure chest sounds perfect!

Those days are priceless. I remember when my own son was a pirate. Good times. Enjoy the party.~~Dee

Excellent! Reminds me of when my youngest daughter was into pirates, Happy Days!

JoAnn's has some wooden boxes with a curved top (like a treasure chest or old trunk). Sign up online and you get some good coupons, which will make it affordable.
Here's a joke for your little pirate:
How do you become a pirate? You just ARRRRRRRRRRR!

P.S. This is an excellent photo for blackmail later. (No, I'm not a mom, but I'm an evil aunt.)

LOL! Monica, I wish you could see and hear him tell his stories. He enunciates very well. He bats those big eyes of his, makes all his exploding noises, and says, "He es-PLO-ded".

Don't you just love the things that the little ones talk about? I need to start writing some of them down right away, because even though they seem brilliant at the time, I tend to forget them the next day.

That is a fun photo, and I agree with Monica that he may not always want certain people to see it. ;o)

I hope things are going well for you. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
