Tucker Come Home

I have been working on a blog about Fall here in Round Rock, but have pre-empted my scheduled program to let you know that Tucker has run away. This is the third time he has done this, and I am afraid we won't find him this time. He always runs to the door along with the dogs whenever anyone comes in.
I am always reminding the girls to watch that he doesn't sneak out, but yesterday afternoon Charlotte and her friends were running in and out. I am sure he was waiting right by the door, and one of the times they were going in and out, he took his opportunity and ran. By the time I realized he was missing, he was long gone. I walked all around the neighborhood calling him, but no luck. We had a cold front come through yesterday, and temperatures dipped down into the twenties last night. I didn't sleep well worrying about little Tucker. I went to the door calling to him numerous times during the night to no avail.
This morning I put Loudon in his stroller and we walked all over the neighborhood calling for Tucker. I felt like the pied-piper of cats. We petted every cat that was out--except Tucker. The first time Tucker ran away, he was gone for three days, so I don't feel like I can give up hope yet. But something is telling me he is not coming back. I don't know if he could survive below freezing temperature. If we do get him back, I am taking him straight to the vet and having him micro-chipped. We have Bochephus micro-chipped, but I never thought about having it done to the cats because they are "supposed" to be house cats.

Tucker, where ever you may be, I hope you are warm and you find your way home. Everyone misses you.

I am so sorry. Losing a pet-not knowing what has happened to them is so terrible. When we lost one of our cats a couple of years ago I made flyers with her picture on them to put up around town. But we never did find her. Maybe Tucker will get cold enough and hungry enough he will find his way home.

Sorry to here about Tucker. You know pets are funny, we have a wild turkey "Lucy" whom we have not seen in about 3 weeks. Has got us wondering if she will return or what has happened to her. Hunting season in in although not legal to hunt females here. Lucy has been with us about a year now and is the i=only one we have seen. a year so ago we had a cat that spent the wintewr livin in our cellar and even let us pet it. Then it was gone have not seen it since.

Thanks for understanding, Beckie. We have posted pictures of Tucker all over the neighborhood. He is such a silly quirky little guy, but he doesn't have the "street smarts" to live outside. I haven't given up hope yet though...

Hi John! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Hope you find Lucy. Maybe she is hiding out from all the hunters. Turkeys are fun to watch. We had some friends with a cabin on the Frios River. You could sit on the porch and watch the deer come grazing by, and they would always be followed by a flock of wild turkeys. They always reminded me of paparazzi.

We have entertained many feral cats through the years...I'll never forget the one that spent the winter in our garage--with a family of rats! I told him the least he could do was run off rodents if he was going to eat our food. LOL! He came back a couple of winters, but he has been gone for several years now.

Oh, I hope Tucker finds his way back home; I know how I feel when I lose one of my kitties. I always tell myself if they don't come back, they've found a home somewhere else with someone who will take care of them; but I never stop missing them!

Hi Cheryl. Thanks for understanding. I know some people think I am crazy, but I think of my cats and dogs as my kids--certainly part of the family. I dreamed last night that Hubby found him during the night and put him on our bed. When I got up this morning, I fully expected him to be there. Funny how dreams blur the lines of sleep and reality.

Nola, I know! I always tell myself they have found another home where they will be loved, but for some reason, this time I can't seem to be positive. Maybe it will just take time. Yesterday when I was walking with Loudon looking for Tucker, I saw hawks circling overhead...and my imagination just went crazy. Sigh...maybe he'll come home for Thanksgiving.

How sad! I do hope Tucker comes home. It is awful to lose a pet. You wait and wonder and hope. Let's hope this story has a happy ending.

MG, I am so sorry! I do hope Tucker comes home. Our cats like to go outside, too, and usually after a little time they're ready to come back in. I do hope Tucker finds his way home or that someone has found him and has taken him in until he finds you.

Thanks Rose. I waffle from being so mad at him for taking off and making me worry--to missing him and praying that he is safe and dry and warm...it's been four days, so maybe he will turn up soon!

I am so sorry to read that you have a lost pet! It is difficult...I know you are terribly worried! I have read that they are often closer then we think, but afraid to come out of their hiding places...Put food out and check under and in places near the house! Good luck!

I'm sorry. I had one disappear for over 2 weeks. Had posters up with rewards, checked all the shelters... Then one day there she was on the back steps.

Gail, we are leaving no bush or stone unturned! We've posted signs and have all the neighbor kids on the lookout for him. I do hope he will turn up. His buddy Kiefer hasn't been eating and misses him even more than I do.

Marnie, that's what I keep hoping--that he will show up on the doorstep one day, and give me a meow and "that" look. I go out every morning and evening calling for him and looking.

I'm so sorry too. Tucker looks a lot like our Sophy. I hope he returns. Silly kitties, they don't know how much we love them.~~Dee

MG - Just a note to let you know I'm thinking of you and hoping for Tucker's safe return. I wish I could be in Round Rock and help with the search.

Dee, They are silly kitties. I think that is what makes them so endearing--they are just little imps!

Thanks for stopping by, and the good thoughts.

Thanks for all the good thoughts, Marie. I wish you were here too! Could you imagine if all my blogging garden buddies came to search for Tucker? He wouldn't stand a chance hiding out from us! That's the first real smile I have had in days! :-)
