A Disturbance In The Force

photo[1] (16)

…a tropical disturbance, that is. Tropical Storm Hermine is dumping several inches of rain on us right now. Loudon is taking advantage of the rain, soaking up as much as he can, just like all the plants. Remember catching raindrops in your mouth? It must be instinctive, because no one had to tell him about it. I think I will go join in his dance. :-)

Get a little dancing in the rain for me too! Sounds wonderful!

Hi Susie! Will do! We have had rain and wind all day, so I have plenty of opportunities!

I hope you're dancing with him, Jenny! I would gladly join you if we got a little much-needed rain here, too.

Hi Rose,

Maybe you will get some from this storm system. We have gotten over 10 1/2 inches--so far! It is still raining. Everything has been shut down because of flooding, with many homes along creeks being evacuated. Hopefully, the rain will slow down today and move on to other parts of the country that need it.

Boys will be boys but I bet he soon came in when the rain really got going. The rain, when it really came down, had us really worried over here. I don't know exactly how much we got in the end because the rain gauge overflowed some time during the night.

Seems like Mother Nature sometimes gets a little over-enthusiastic and doesn't know when to stop. I hope the damage is minimal in Texas.

We ended up with 12" here, Jenny - rate of 3" per hour at one point...glad we have a slight slope. Glad Loudon had fun in the rain!

A lovely photo of Loudon, sheer abandoned joy! How quickly he is growing :)

Hi Jenny,
We've been getting some rain this week, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.

I see this post was done the 7th. How's your weather now?

Loudon looked like he was having so much fun! I am sure you did, too, when you joined him. How cool he opened his mouth to catch the rain. What a sweetie!

Thanks for the encouragement about the night guard. The reason I had to wait this long is because I have to have a cavity redone, because the young gal that replaced the one that fell out did not cover the whole area. It took me this long to get in to see a new dentist. I'm going in October 5th for that, then the next day, for the fitting for the night guard.

Hello to all! I am sorry I have appeared to have fallen off the face of the earth--much to do and much happening here. We are still dealing with the after effects of Hermine, as well.

Jenny @ Rock Rose: We thought we were going to have to build an ark! Who knew we would get our annual rainfall in one fell swoop!

MARIA: Thank you--and please join in the dance--the more, the merrier!

Gail: How funny! I thought I was inspired by the thought of a mailbox for storing my gardening tools. Great minds think alike! ;-)

Marie: I am sure the flood damage could have been much worse. We loved all the rain, just wish it could have been spaced out a little!

Annie in Austin: We had over 18"! Brushy Creek Lake is still closed. I had wanted to go take pics there, but they have it barricaded.

Dear Shy Songbird: You are so right--there is something about being almost 3--you do everything with abandon!

Dear Sue: We have been getting showers almost every day since the big deluge. You can't just walk outside, or you will be attacked by mosquitoes. I can't wait for cool weather to knock them off!

How long has it been since you had the filling done? A few years ago, I had to have a lot of repair work done on old fillings that I had. Who knew they had an expiration date?!?
