...The falling leaves drift by my window...making me think it is Autumn--but no! It's Springtime in Central Texas. This is the time of year the Live Oaks shed their leaves. As the new ones emerge, the old ones turn brown and fall. Not only do I have all the leaves in my yard, but already people who know me are calling, asking me if I want their leaves...Uh, Yeah! Lovely brown matter to add to my compost pile as well as mulch for all the beds.
And look! I have actual blossoms on one of my Crab apple trees! I am so excited at the thought of having crab apples this fall!

How great you are getting some rain! The cats and dog have the right idea-there is nothing like a nap when it's raining. :} Wonderful to see your crab apple blossoms. They say spring loud and clear.
I love the photo of the dog and the Girl Scout cookie box; I am going to blame the disappearance of mine on the cats!
I looked out yesterday and thought it was snowing, white was falling all about. It took me a moment to realize it was all the Bradford pear blooms falling off in the rain! What an optical illusion.
I was so happy to see the rain, if it hadn't been so cold, I would have gone out and danced in the rain!
LOL, Those last two pictures look familiar. Hope there wasn't any chocolate, though, in those cookies!
Interesting info on the live oaks; I didn't realize they lost their leaves in this way. So glad your crabapple trees are budding out; I love to see them in the spring.
Beckie, this is the first good rain we have had since October of last year! It has turned cold, and I am so glad I didn't plant my garden yet--I am still getting it cleaned up, but with our 80 degree weather, I thought I was late getting it out! Yes, the animals have the right idea...we all feel like hibernating until the weather warms up again.
Bocephus is incorrigible! He is still on my mother's naughty list because he ate her homemade bread. He is so big, he stands up at the kitchen island, and looks for any goodies that might have been left out...and usually scores something!
The rain is so wonderful. I don't think anyone is complaining about the week of cloudy weather.
I just love Bradford Pears...and they have really been beautiful this year. It would be neat if you could get a picture of them raining down.
Rose, I actually got the cookies away from him before he ate them because they did have chocolate in them. We have had to make him throw up before when he ate a bag of chocolate chips. You would think he would learn his lesson, but he seems to be attracted to chocolate...hmmmm, guess he takes after his mother. Bad boy!
You know, Bocephus, I felt the exact same way, only with me it was Thin Mints! Love your John Deere collar, too.
Hi Monica, Bocephus here. Thanks for the compliment on my collar. Mom says that I can only wear John Deere stuff because (1) I run like a deer, and (2) it's a nod to her hometown. Me, I just think it makes me look macho. Hee, hee!
