Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Loudon.

It's hard to believe it's been a year since we waited for hours in that cold hospital room waiting for you to arrive. It's been a year of firsts for you. We have enjoyed watching you grow and explore and discover the world around you. Life is an adventure for you and your life is a blessing to us.

Cheryl, children are such a blessing. I wish I had realized that more when my children were small. I was so caught up in all the duties of family and home, that I didn't enjoy them like I should have. I guess that is why God lets us be grandparents--it has been such a wonderful experience.

Happy Birthday to a sweet little boy! I saw your reply to Cheryl--you are so right about being so busy when you are raising your own children. Grandchildren give us a second chance to take the time and just enjoy them.

Hi Rose. I guess that is why wisdom comes with age--we have to have all those years of making mistakes before we learn. One thing's for sure--I am enjoying this funny little man!

Happy Birthday to a sweet little guy. Co-incidentally, one of my brothers was born on that day too. He was 61! Quite a bit older than your little grandson.

May I join in this discussion? I just have to agree with you. I enjoyed my children when they were little, but so many times I didn't listen to them. My mind would be wandering.....what to cook for supper... is tomorrow gym day or library day.....etc. etc. etc.
I also had to work outside the home when they were in school. Even less time to enjoy and shape them into who they will become one day.

I'm glad you are enjoying grandma-hood. I am too!! It does give us a second chance. But there are also times when we have to keep our mouth closed and let our children (or children-in-law) do what they feel is best for the child. I am struggling with that one, as things have changed so much. {{sigh}}

Hi Michelle, I just love his curls. His momma had those same curls when she was small. I used to put her hair up in pigtails when it got long enough and then finger-curl them into cork-screw curls. (sigh) Seems like just yesterday...

Thanks Marnie, his little smile just melts my heart! Thanks for all the well-wishes.

Wendy, Happy Birthday to your brother.

You know, I think you have touched on something no one really wants to talk about. It is so hard seeing your kids make decisions that you think are wrong. But, we have to keep quiet unless asked, and boy, it that hard! You are so right--times have changed. There are some decisions my kids are having to make that I didn't have to worry about, and I always think, I am SO glad I don't have to deal with that!

What a heart breaker he's going to be! Grandchildren are the lights of our lives. I can't imagine my life with out them. We are so lucky aren't we?

Belated Happy Birthday!!!

I bubblewrap my greenhouse as this does indeed help insulate it and sadly we do not have a garage not that there would be room in it for a car the amount of junk we have!!!!!.
