In springtime, I don't want to be anywhere but Texas. Went down the Bluebonnet Trails here today, the scent took my breath away!
Hi Nola, I bet it was beautiful. I wonder if it was the scent of the Bluebonnets that took your breath away or the pollen? LOL! It is so heavy this year, my red car looks yellow...it looks like someone took handfuls of yellow powder and threw it all over my car.

Dee, It was a glorious day--and any day I can redirect his stick-whacking from my plants is a good day. The bronze statues made such a nice satisfying echoey (I just made up a new word!)sound that was hard for Loudon to resist. He was scared of the waterfall though.
A wonderful way to spend a spring day. The cattle are sure big in Texas!

Marie, the Longhorns really are big! I think some of those statues were a little bit bigger than life-size though. LOL!
Rose, Sticks and dirt. That is all Loudon needs to stay busy and happy. He is growing up fast...I can't think about it--it makes me too sad.

Hey Joseph! Glad you stopped by. Actually, Loudon is my grandson. I have two granddaughters and Loudon is the only little grandson--so far. ;-)
Hi Monica. I see I am going to have to teach you Texan! It's not doggie like puppy dog, It's pronounced doagie (like hoagie) although the spelling is dogie...don't ask--it's a Texas thang! ;-)
Springtime in Texas looks just beautiful. It has only been 8C
(47F) today with a cold easterly wind. More like January temperatures for SE UK. Everything is just so slow here....
I love the waterfall. It looks stunning. There is nothing like water to soothe the sould.

Cheryl, the waterfall was wonderful, in fact, I always find Brushy Creek so restorative. I wanted to take pictures of the Round Rock that our town was named after, but didn't dare with "The Loud One" with me. He was so busy finding sticks and playing in the dirt, I had to watch him like a hawk! He is such a joy. It is amazing how much more I appreciate my grand-kids than I was able to my own children. I was too busy trying to make sure they went to soccer and gymnastic practice, did their homework, and minded their manners.

Jan, You are so right. Soon it will be too hot. Little Loudon is an outside guy, so we will be sweating, but outside anyway. We will have to limit our time to early morning and evening.
Cindy, this has been the kind of April that just makes your heart sing, it is so beautiful.
Dear WG, It is fast becoming summer here. Spring is always so illusive. Loudon and I are trying to enjoy every moment we can outside.

What wonderful statues of the longhorns. They look a little large too. Must be because everything is bigger in Texas:)
Longhorn cattle are coming back into popularity with rodeo types. A friend of mine is raising them.

Thanks Gail, I am just a little partial to that little guy. And thanks on the song too--I always loved that song by the Lovin' Spoonful's...brings back sooooo many memories of younger carefree days. Too bad I didn't appreciate them for that back then.
